Etopps IPO : Week of March 19, 2007

Etopps is offering something different this week. Very different.

The word around the internet is that this week’s offering of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) cards is a “test run.” If it sells out, we’re probably going to see another one. Here are the cards:
The cost for these three cards is $7.00, with a print run of 999. 

The cost for these following three cards is $7.50, and they also have a print run of 999.

If you order all six cards you receive a free autographed Etopps card of WWE Diva Torrie Wilson. The autograph is an interesting option, and for the first time, Etopps will hold it in port for users, thus making it liquid like other Etopps cards. Yet the reality of the card is, it’s an autograph of a “diva”. Call it what you want–I know I have my own ideas—but I’m not sure of the future value of this card. It may be

The wrestling industry is a popular one, but to be perfectly honest with you, I’m not 100% as to how popular the industry is amongst collectors. A quick view of Ebay shows a number of wrestling related items for sale but most are low value items. 

If you’re the gambling type, take a shot at the full set and see if you can do a quick flip. If you’re more conservative, sit back and watch what unfolds in the post IPO market for these cards.
